UNILAG ordered students to vacate hostels, shut campus, resume online class as COVID-19 cases keep rising 

The management of the University of Lagos has not only shut down the student hostels over reported cases of coronavirus but also direct lectures to delivered the rest lecture of the semester virtually with effect from 26th July 2021.

The management of the institution reach a concise following an emergency senate meeting held on Wednesday at the J. F. Ade Ajayi Auditorium where all students were directed to vacate the halls of residence along with their respective belongs latest by 12.00 noon on Thursday, July 15, 2021.

The decision made from the senate emergency meeting was made know to the Punch news by member of the University’s senate who said “After getting the report, which I don’t like to discuss with you, we decided that the hostels should be shut down.”

The senate member who pleaded anonymity, said nothing about whether COVID-19 Delta variant was discovered on the university campus.
