Southern governors meet again over open grazing ban, restructuring and a call for state police

The 16 southern state governors are having meeting hosted by the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to discuss decisions taken in Asaba on the open grazing ban

The governors arrived at Alausa, Ikeja, the venue of their meeting where they will further assess decisions on the open grazing ban, restructuring, fiscal federalism and a call for state police.

The meeting is coming eight weeks after the governors met in Asaba, the Delta State capital on May 11, 2021, to address national issue which related to farmers and herdsmen clashes with other crimes emanating from open grazing

Governors present at the venue as of the time of filling this report are: Oluwarotimi Akeredolu (Ondo), Nyesom Wike (Rivers), Adegboyega Oyetola (Osun), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), and Godwin Obaseki (Edo) represented by his deputy, Philip Shaibu.
