Senate confirmed the appointment of AbdulRasheed Bawa as the new EFCC Chairman

The Nigeria senate has okay the appointment of Mr. Abdulrasheed Bawa as the new substantive chairman of Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC

The confirmation follow the two hours session held in the senate house where he was bombarded with different wide range of issues emanating from different angles including when he was the zonal head of commission

While grilling with questions, the 40-year-old man denied the selling of recovered asset ceased while he was the Port Harcourt Zonal head of commission, said the auctioning was the duty of EFCC secretary and he did not involve in the selling

He also dismissed the allegation mount against him of being arrest by the former acting chairman Mr. Ibrahim Magu for undisclosed reasons
During his remark he promise to take on his duties diligently and making use of digitisation which will enable Nigerian to have access to information on EFCC operations

He recount on some of his success while in Port Harcourt zonal head of commission, he said 216 conviction case were prosecuted in court adding that he is fit for the appointment based on year of experience

Bawa will now succeed Mr. Ibrahim Magu who was suspended as acting chairman of the commission last year
