Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala finally earn full support of US President to become WTO DG

The United States President has finally kick against the mix-feelings of US government under former president Donald Trump toward Iweala endorsement for WTO director general

President Joe Biden give the 66-years-old former Nigeria finance minister Ngozi Okonjo Iweala a “Strong Support” to become the world trade organisation director general

Earlier we have reported that the main opponent of Iweala in the bide for WTO DG, Yoo Myun-hee have withdrew leaving only Mrs. Iweala on the bide for the position

Okonjo-Iweala who has worked in many reputable organisation both public and private was described by the representative of the US trade as “Wealth of Knowledge in economic and international diplomacy” adding that she has “proven experience managing a large international organisations”

On the 25th years running of WTO, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala will now become first African and first woman to attain world trade organisation director general which is indeed a land mark achievement. The selection process has been on since mid last year
