Nigerian Soldier protest over non-payment of allowances and poor equipment to confront insurgents in Borno State

Some Nigerian under unidentified battalion were seen staging a protest against their command in Borno state

They staged the protest to express their grievances over posting them to the part of a theater of war in which active combat operations are conducted

The soldiers were seen in their masses shooting sporadically in the air and stormed the headquarters of the Theatre Command in Borno State to reject the posting and to rebel against non-payment of allowances and poor equipment

According to one of the soldier who spoke under anonymity cited the recent reinforcement posted to the same location, were captured and killed by insurgents who came with highly sophisticated weapon last month

Meanwhile, The Nigerian Army is yet to react to the protest by the aggrieved soldiers.

It would be recalled few days ago when the National Security Adviser, Babagana Monguno made a statement that monies meant for purchasing of weapon and other amenities for soldier under immediate passed chief of Army staff and other service chefs are no where to be found

Monguno however refute the claim in a statement released to deny the claim
