Nigeria air force release names of pilot on board of the missing alpha Jet | Says the jet might have crashed

The Nigeria air force NAF have released the names of pilot who are on board of the missing alpha aircraft (NAF475) that went off radar on Wednesday says it might have crashed

It would be recalled on Wednesday, Report of The airforce alpha jet which was on an interdiction mission as part of the mission to counterinsurgency ravaging the Northeast part of the country and to add to effort of the ground troops that went missing

In a statement released by the , the Director of Public Relations and Information at the Nigerian Air Force, Edward Gabkwet who said that the jet that went off the radar with two crew member named: Lieutenant John Abolarinwa and Flight Lieutenant Ebiakpo Chapele might have crashed

Edward however, started that search and rescue mission have been activated with support from the Nigeria army on ground

”Intelligence report gathered by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) indicates that the Alpha Jet aircraft (NAF475) that went off the radar with 2 crew members on board on 31 March 2021 might have crashed.

The cause of the crash as well as the whereabouts of the 2 pilots remain unknown. The pilots are Flight Lieutenant John Abolarinwa and Flight Lieutenant Ebiakpo Chapele.

Extensive search and rescue efforts are still ongoing by NAF surveillance aircraft as well as NAF Special Forces and Nigerian Army troops on ground.

At this point, the NAF is not ruling out anything regarding the incident. It however remains hopeful that the crew would soon be found and rescued.”
