The Nigeria Football Federation President, Amaju Melvin Pinnick has emerged as FIFA Council after got a landslide victory over his opponent
The position was contested by Six candidates which are Lamin Kaba Bajo from Gambia, Wallace Karia from Tanzania, Nick Mwendwa from Kenya, Andrew Kamanga from Zambia and Walter Nyamilandu, fortunately, four out of his Pinnick’s rival step down and support him prior to the vote where the Nigeria’s vote was casted by Dr Mohammed Sanusi, General Secretary of Nigeria Football Federation.
Pinnick defeated his only remained rival Malawian FA president Walter Nyamilandu by 48 vote to 8 to become third ever Nigerian to emerged as member of the prestigious FIFA council after Oyo Orok Oyo (1980-1988) and Amos Adamu (2006-2010) during Confederation of Africa football general assembly held at the Royal Ballroom of the Sofitel Hotel in Morocco’s administrative capital on Friday, March 12.
The position is four-years term which also made Pinnick an automatic member of the CAF Executive Committee
While reacting to his victory, he took to his Instagram page to express his gratitude to the almighty
