An Osun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Apomu, on Friday, remanded Owolabi Adeeko, his mum, Mrs Bola Adeeko and a prophet, Segun Philip, in the Ilesa Correctional Centre for allegedly killing a final year student of the Lagos State University, Favour Daley-Oladele. The three suspects arrived in court in an unmarked vehicle.
The three accused persons allegedly killed the lady on December 8 in Ikoyi-Ile Osun State for money ritual.
Appearing before Magistrate Olukunle Idowu-Faith, the accused persons, plea to the two count of conspiracy and murder could not be taken owing to the nature of the case.
Security sources had claimed the suspects might be arraigned before a magistrate in Osogbo instead of Apomu, which is the jurisdiction where the crime was committed, according to report the idea of taking the suspect to Osogbo was due to a security Reasons
An Armoured Personnel Carrier, manned by policemen, was stationed at the entrance to the court about 30 minutes before the arrival of the suspects, while armed policemen positioned themselves in strategic places around the court.
While Inspector Duro Adekunle announced appearance for the prosecution, the accused did not have legal representation in court.
Magistrate Idowu-Faith directed the prosecution to duplicate the case file and send to the Ministry of Justice for legal advice.
He said the three accused persons should be remanded in Ilesa Correctional Centre and adjourned the matter till Wednesday, March 25, 2020 for mention.
