The the state government of Kaduna state have said 937 people have lost their life in the hand of bandits and 1,972 have been kidnapped in 2020
In the annual report released by the State Government on Wednesday March 9 by Governor El-Rufai together with state Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Samuel Aruwan at the Council Chamber of Sir Kashim Ibrahim House Kaduna
The commissioner said Kaduna central senatorial district account for half of the death cases recorded with 152 deaths representing 50% and Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Giwa and Chikun local governments in the Central Senatorial district account for 468 deaths out of the 937 people that died last year while 1,561 out of which 1,461 were kidnapped within Birnin Gwari, Igabi, Giwa and Chikun local government areas.
Aruwa added that the insecurity ravaging the state have hampered farming activities and may probably reversed the trend of bumper harvest in the state recorded in the recent years and is likely to induce food shortages
While giving his remarks, governor El-Rufai express worry over the security situation of the state and assure that his administration has been using its limited tools to address the security challenge facing the state and has been supporting the federal security agencies deployed with vehicles and other logistics
