Ooni of Ife let Yoruba down for failing to convey situations in SW caused by herdsmen – Igboho

The popular indigenous Yoruba activist Sunday Adeyemo better known as Sunday Igboho have said that Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has disappointed Yoruba nation as he failed to expressed the hardships Yoruba is going through in the hand of incessant attacked by herdsmen

Followed the event of Igangan people at Ibarapa LGA being consistently attacked by herdsmen which led to 7-days ultimatum Igboho gave the herdsmen in the community to evacuate the area

The Ooni of Ife made a visit to Aso villa to speak with president Muhammadu Buhari on the crises rocking the South West region
However, after the meeting the king commended Igboho for his prompt intervention on igangan crises and urge him not to take action into his hand but leave it to the authorities of the state government and other affected state government

Reacting to this, Igboho said while in a virtual town hall meeting with Yoruba in Diaspora that most of Yoruba monarch are backed by politicians which make them helpless and find it difficult to speak on something that may challenge such governments which he said was exactly the issue with the Ooni visitation to president without telling him the pain and displeasure Yoruba people are going through in the hand of herdsmen
