Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna dismissed all Nurses who join NLC strike, described the Labour leader as bandit

Following ongoing mass protest staged by Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC Kaduna branch, the state Governor, Nasir El-Rufai has threatened to made mass sack of workers especially nurses below level 14

The governor’s action was linked to a tweet he made earlier when he stated that Barau Dikko Teaching hospital had reported that nurses disconnected oxygen from a two-day old baby in an incubator on Monday, May 17, 2021 when they joined the NLC strike.

Reacting to this, the Governor said

“Bandits illegally use arms, but the NLC’s mob action is for similar ends: to hold hostage freedoms, economic interests, livelihoods and resources of the people of Kaduna State,” he tweeted via @GovKaduna.

“Efforts to dress up criminal activity as industrial action do not change the reality of lawbreaking that has unfolded, including their persistently ignoring the prohibition against impeding essential services.”
