For the sake of Fairness, Power should shifts to the south in 2023 – Gov Babagana Zulum

Governor of Borno State, Professor Babagana Zulum said for the sake of fairness power should return to the Southern part of the country

He said this in Lagos while in 17th chief Gani Fawehinmi Annual Lecture, themed “The constitutional history of Nigeria’s dysfunction: Any pathway to indivisibility and common progress?” on Friday which was organised by Nigerian Bar Association(NBA), Ikeja branch to commemorate the Life and time of the late Fawehinmi
He laid emphasis on on the facts that no part of the country can be trusted with power

The governor who was accompanied by some of his cabinet members and commissioners also call out on the people from South east and South South in the event to take on their mandate especially those that have all qualifications and criteria to lead the country

According to a section in Nigeria constitution, Governor Zulum reeled out criteria to attained before one can lead the nation, he one should (1) should be Nigeria citizen by birth (2) should have attained the age of 40 (3) Should be a member and sponsor by a political party (4) should literate with at least school certificate level

Governor Zulum also cite some concern of some people saying “they don’t want to give us power” and others like constitution amendment to allow more younger people to attain leadership position and also give some examples of such like President Emmanuel Macron of France attainn at age 39 and Prime Minister Sanna Marin of Finland at age 34
