First batch of COVID-19 Vaccine arrives Nigeria

First batch of COVID-29 vaccine arrived Nigeria today March 2nd as part of 16 million doses of the vaccines planned to deliver over next months

The delivery of the AstraZeneca/Oxford vaccine was made possible as part of effort of COVAX facility aim to deliver 9ver 2 billion vaccines across the world before the end of 2021 partnership with Gavi, CEPI, UNICEF and WHO

The vaccines arrives Nigeria around 11am on Tuesday shipped from Serum Institute of India at Mumbai down to Abuja

One of president Muhammadu Buhari’s aid, Bashir Ahmad disclosed it via his twitter handle

He wrote

“Nigeria has just received the first batch of Oxford/AstraZeneca COVID—19 vaccine, ”
