Femi Fani-Kayode met with Sunday Igboho, Seek license for Nigerian to carry guns for self-defense

Former Aviation minister, chief Femi Fani-Kayode earlier today met with the indigenous Yoruba activist, chief Sunday Adeyemo better know as Sunday Igboho in his resident to discuss the issue of ethnic clashes and insecurity taken place in the southwest part of the country

The former minister said other Nigerians should be permitted to bear high sophisticated weapon like AK 47 to defend themselves if herdsmen is licenced to do so as suggested by Bauchi state governor

“The Bauchi State Governor said a few days ago that Fulani herdsmen should be allowed to carry AK-47, but I disagree with him on that, but that is his own opinion. If you go by that principle, it makes absolute sense that if Fulani herdsmen are allowed to carry AK-47 to defend their cows and their lives if they feel threatened, then it is also logical that farmers, local people and each one of us to also have that right to defend ourselves against Fulani herdsmen or against those seeking to come and kill us. He said

He said Igboho was not against law-abiding Fulani herders but his position is was that those criminal disguise as herdsmen should be flushed out of the society for leave to reign

He, however said since the defence minister Major General Bashir Magashi (retd) also urge all Nigerian to stand against and defend themselves whenever they are confronted by bandits, kidnappers or killer, they should then licensed all Nigerian to possess more sophisticated weapon to defend themselves effectively
