#ENDSARS Protest: Court halt the prosecution of pastor Sam Adeyemi Davido, Burna boy, Falz, others

The high court sitting in abuja has ordered the magistrate court to put an end to the prosecution, proceeding and stay action against 50 Celebrities and Influencers who supported #endsars movement on October 2020


In a case which was instituted before magistrate Court filed by Kenechukwu Okeke against 50 endsars supporters for alleged roles in the protest which resulted to looting and destruction of properties has been ordered to stop by the High Court.


Recall on October 2020, an activist, Kenechukwu Okeke filed a criminal complaint before a chief Magistrate’s court in abuja against
Musician Damini Ogulu aka Burna Boy, David Adeleke popularly known as Davido, Folarin Falana popularly known as Falz; social media comedians, Debo Adebayo aka Mr Macaroni, and Maryam Akpaokagi aka Taoma, Peter and Paul Okoye, Innocent Idibia aka Tuface, Bankole Wellington popularly known as Banky W, Tiwa Savage, Michael Ajereh aka Don Jazzy and Yemi Alade, Senior Pastor, Daystar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi; activist Aisha Yesufu and 36 others for the role they played during the protest which he said later resulted into distruction of some of his properties and those supporter should be held

However, the judgment was delivered by Justice Bello Kawu on the application filed by one of the defendant, Deji adeyanju,
He said:

“An order of this honourable court granting leave to the application to issue and serve on the defendant an application for judicial review against the proceedings/direct criminal complaint of Hon. Omolola Tolulope Akindele sitting at Chief Magistrate Court II, Wuse Zone 6 in the suit of Kenechukwu Okeke Vs Deji Adeyanju and 49 others in suit No. CR/49/2020.

“An order of this honourable court, that on the grant of the above orders herein, serve as stay of all proceedings on the direct criminal complaint Omolola Tolulope Akindele sitting at Chief Magistrate Court II, Wuse Zone 6 in the suit of Kenechukwu Okeke Vs Deji Adeyanju and 49 others in suit no. CR/49/2020.

“An order of this honourable court, that on the grant of the above orders herein, same order as granted by the honourable court shall restrain the Nigeria Police Force, 2nd and 3rd defendants from taking any further steps, arresting and or taking any unconstitutional/illegal steps in the form of any guise as it concerns the subject matters whatsoever before this court herein as it concerns all parties in the proceedings.”
